March-May 2002 – Barriers to Internet Access

This dataset contains tracking data and questions pertaining to Internet access and barriers to access. Many questions asked of non-users.

This study reveals a fluidity in internet use, detailing the on again, off again, or proximal relationships that some have with the Internet and also looks at those who remain offline and the reasons given for non-use.

40 million Americans, one third of all Internet users, have looked online for information about a place to live.

Fifty-two million Americans have looked online for information about jobs, and more than 4 million do so on a typical day.
