'"With the Internet now a key part of the American working world, a new problem emerges: Work creep — doing more work at home after work hours and while supposedly on vacation because of e-mail and cell phones.
These networked workers — 62% of the number of employed adults in the United States — say cell phones and BlackBerries are like electronic tethers to the office. The study says some 45% of employed Americans report doing at least some work from home and 18% of working Americans say they do job-related tasks at home almost daily.
The study found the Internet compulsion was primarily a white-collar, corporate-type phenomenon."
