Mixed signals on privacy concerns

'Americans are conflicted about Internet privacy. They say they want better protection for their personal data, but often trade away safeguards to connect with friends or find what they are looking for online...
Ninety-four percent of American adults surveyed said it was important to control who has access to their personal information. But 61 percent hadn't taken steps to limit the information about them found online....
"What we see in our data is experience can change your mind with respect to privacy," said Susannah Fox, an associate director at the Pew project.
