Mick O'Leary, Information Today
'"One of the most consistently interesting and valuable sites on the Web is the Pew Internet & American Life Project. I reviewed it in the April 2003 issue of Information Today, and I visit it regularly for fresh insights on how Americans are using the Internet. The project publishes several reports annually; each is a gem of research and analysis. Best of all, the project's editors have an unfailing eye for those watershed moments when a little-known app crosses over to become, literally, a household word: e-mail, spam, blogs, Google, and more.
Many news sites move articles into data bases after a period of time and then offer them for sale, in the process changing the URLs that link to them. Or they require registration. Thus, we provide a link to the front page of the news website and the information necessary to find the story on that site, rather than a direct link to the article.
