Internet Survey; Attack Affected Online Behavior

'The fall of the Twin Towers and jetliners still vibrates across the Internet. After the attacks, millions of people who had not been in contact with one another reconnected by e-mail. In another rippling effect of the tragedies, consumers are now sharply divided over whether the government should monitor people's e-mail and online activities. Forty-seven percent of Americans believe the government should not; 45 percent say the government should have that right. These are a few of the findings of a survey taken by the Pew Internet & American Life Project between June 26 and July 26 of 2,501 American adults. Results show how the terrorist attack changed Americans' online behavior.
