'While the kids are doing their thing, mom and dad are doing their thing - often something completely different but just as wired. The Pew study, released yesterday, analyzed data from past studies as well as information gleaned from studies conducted earlier this year. In every study, researchers found parents were more likely to have computers at home and have Internet access than non-parents. The study concluded that 70 percent of American parents with a child under 18 use the Internet, compared to 53 percent of non-parents. That means the country's 45 million online parents make up 43 percent of U.S. Internet users.
