How Communities Learn

Lee Rainie, Director of the Pew Research Center’s Internet & American Life Project, discusses the latest trends in Americans use of the internet and smart phones and how people use technology to learn and share information about their communities. He focuses on rural communities like many of those served by the Black Hills Knowledge Network. And he explores the role of social networks – the technological kind as well as the real-world kind – in shaping the way people gather community information and make sense of it.
